I really hate it when people say "readjust."
Adjust and adjust again. When I hear "readjust" I think that a person puts something in place then takes it out of that place and puts it back. It's not an adjustment, because it was fine. It's a readjustment.
Bah!
Also, my company sells something called an "inherit" where we take on someone else's code (a horrible adventure) but some people insist on calling it a "reinherit." That irks me, too!

I am curious as to why being looked at by a man (or as you seem to be sure, "checked out") bother's you so horribly much that you must rant about it in a forum that is readable all over the world. Surely you do not get this angry when a girl checks you out (assuming this ever happens.) So why so incredibly uncomfortable with being checked out by a male?

Posted by: Britton at December 2, 2004 10:57 AMSome people are so clueless. And worst of all they can't even read...
(No Britton, regardless of our past,I am NOT hinting at you this time. But I guess you figured that one already).
Posted by: LW at December 2, 2004 11:12 AMOh I know...irregardless is one of those words that bothers me. I also cringe when people say they are nauseous rather than nauseated. Although I guess technically they are right since they make me sick, but that's of course not what they were trying to say. I guess I had a mean English teacher in high school who used to harp on those things so I always notice when people say it.
Posted by: Britton at December 2, 2004 03:26 PMI can't stand it when people use the term "obliviated".
Such an expensive word for such a cheap state!
Smooches, DJJ! Still love ya!
