Ummm... Are y'all Democrats sure you didn't mean to pick John Edwards as the presidential candidate?
I'm listening to John Edwards debate Dick Cheney right now and he is mopping the floor with the old coot.
If Edwards was running for president, Bush might not be getting my vote today. His voice is strong. He is clear and direct. He is convincing with his citations AND (most of the time) he's addressing the question that was asked.
Update: Since I'm listening to this on the radio, I asked someone who is watching it on TV. They said they think Cheney is winning and that he's "pulling gravitas." The radio broadcast makes Cheney sound like he's pulling an IV stand...
Update II: I'm now listening to clips from the debate and there were some real zingers both ways.

Anywho.....I am deeply bored by Johnny boy. Also,I think he looks like Robert Wagner (Jonathan Heart in the series "The Hearts").He is very physical and just won't stop winking....ehhhhh.......blinking.
Yes,he indeed answered every question directly and immediate, and I just became Emperor of China.:-)
After this debate I have no need for Ambien,I will sleep like a baby!
If there is ONE thing Edwards AND Bush have incommon:they both need lessons in speech in order to stop boring people to TEARS!
Edwards blinking was driving me absolutely batty. Is he always like this or did he just arrive from a glaucoma test?
Visually Cheney toasted him. He was calm and composed while Edwards did a lot of jumping about, especially in the latter half of the debate.
I was irritated at both of them for the "I'll answer that question in a minute, first let me re-address the question from before this one."
