Jerry Fallwell is Dead
I have nothing to contribute to the intellectual atmosphere of our times with regard to this event. My immediate thought on hearing the news was "good riddance."

And that's why I haven't remarked on this sooner.

If you saw Hannity & Colmes on Fox yesterday, they spoke briefly to Chris Hitchens. Hitchens expressed extreme dislike of Falwell, with a "good riddance" attitude. He got careful partial agreement from the leftist Mr Colmes, although he thought Hitchens might be more gracious.
Hannity, a catholic conservative altruist, was angry to the point of speechlessness. 'Twas a welcome break.
So, Trey, you are ungracious. So am I. I find marginally more value in Mr. Falwell's famous cousin.

I saw a clip of Hitchens on Anderson Cooper's show and it was deliciously vitriolic.
No, "grace" has never really been a strong point of mine. It's on the list with "humility."
