I read on the subway and rarely pay close attention to the people around me unless I'm bored with my book.

Well, last night, I was riding and reading and people were shifting about.  Eventually a seat opened up and I flopped down next to this guy.  I had previously noted that he was reading, too, and he was attractive, but had a heterosexual vibe about him.  When I sat down, I glanced over at his book to see what he was reading and, lo, it was Atlas Shrugged!

In my surprise, I chirped, "That's my favorite book!"

And he said, "Oh yeah?"

And I said, "Yeah."  And then I went back to my book.

I did note his Ron Paul bookmark as well, but it's nice to see people taking in good ideas.

So, I'm in love, but the object of my affection is awkwardly situated.

First of all, it's a she.

Second, she lives in Washington.

Third, she's married.

Fourth, she's my best friend's boyfriend's mom.

heh heh heh...

In seriousness, on Sunday I went with Johndavid, his boyfriend, and his boyfriend's parents to the Upright Citizen's Brigade and then off to dinner.  They, the parents, are just a very interesting couple.  They've lived in lots of places and they are interested in lots of different topics.  His dad is a jazz radio host person. 

And his mom and I talked about books, blogs, photography, storytelling, book clubs, and a bunch of other things. Endlessly.  She's a charming lady of very good humor and so it made for such a nice evening out.
