So, TigerKitten and I went to Barney's Warehouse sale today.

Barney's is a very "fashion forward" sort of place.  This means that the things they sell are generally hip to the latest trends and are grotesquely overpriced.  I've never seen anything there that I think looks good enough or would last long enough to justify the expense. 

$75 for a t-shirt that while crazy soft feels like it's made of summer mist and sewn together with spiderwebs?  Actually, on my current budget, the things they sell would have to last for the next sixty thousand years to justify the expense.

Don't get me wrong.  I appreciate the luxury of such things and someday I do hope that I am in a position where I can bring things like that into my life, but right now it would be hideously inappropriate.

Anyway, twice a year, Barney's opens their warehouse and sells off their excess stock off at crazy bargains.  Prices are marked down and then granted discounts.  The smallest discount I saw was 25% and the largest was 75%.

I bought a dress shirt for $34 that was regularly priced at something like $90.  I got a silk-cashmere blend hoodie for $24.  It will be perfect for the cool evenings of the spring and fall.

But the best deal was the new suit I bought.  It's so pretty, y'all.

It's a light-weight, gray, tweed, two-button Valentino suit.  It fits so nicely and the fabric moves beautifully.  You won't mistake it for summer mist, but you might think it was made with me in mind.

The original price on it was $1,649.  I got it for about $487.  BARGAINS!

I tell myself that I will buy myself at least one suit a year.  I didn't get one last year, but I think this one makes up for the lapse.  I have to get the pants hemmed, but as soon as I do, I just can't wait to wear it to work.

So, anyway, the Barney's Warehouse sale is good bargains.  They only have it twice a year, so I am going to have to keep my eyes peeled for it.
