Soda Pop Fail
Because I just can't leave well enough alone, I decided to try drinking a soda today. A Pepsi to be specific.
Disgusting.
I used to love drinking Pepsis and I would have one or two a day. Today, I had several small sips but ended pouring it out.
I don't remember it tasting so plain. Yes, it's sweet, but it has a flavor like sweet cardboard. This is why I now only take my cola with Jack Daniels in it. Or perhaps some Jim Beam if I'm feeling particularly sophisticated.

I was exactly the same way. I used to be able to pour down several Pepsis a day, but for some odd reason, I cannot remember why, I just stopped drinking soda for a long time. The next time I had the urge to drink a Pepsi, I ordered it at a restaurant and it tasted like pure chemicals.
Perhaps we may say then that soda is a "habituated" taste?

It definitely tastes awful once you've weened yourself off of sugar. I didn't drink any kind of soda for several months and the first time I tasted coke after that it was disgusting. Unfortunately for me, I went back to my bad habit and I'm now trying to return to a strict no-refined-carbs diet.
